			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;ve been reading a book from my personal library that I never completed reading when I first received it. It&#8217;s  &#8220;Body By God&#8221; by Dr. Ben Lerner. It&#8217;s basically an owner&#8217;s manual for you and your body based on how God dictates your body mamangement.</p>
<p>The part on eating style has been very eye-opening and I&#8217;ve started implementing some of the guidleines. What foods are acceptable for your Body By God, when to eat them, and in which combinations to be most effective. So far, it&#8217;s been pretty easy and I think successful. I&#8217;m not hungry and I feel like I&#8217;m losing already (that could be psychological, but who cares?).</p>
<p>I&#8217;ll continue on with this endeavor and will update the blog on how it&#8217;s going. For the first time in a long time, I feel optomistic about my diet, or UN-diet as the BBG states.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So, the last two days have been good from the excercise front. I&#8217;ve made 30 minute runs on the eliptical machine and have done pretty well. Already feeling better than just sitting around.</p>
<p>Now for the bad news, my Wellness Screening came through. Even though there were no surprises, the results are still troubling. My blood pressure was 138/90, which is borderline high. This has not been typical, but is likely to stay higher unless I keep my excercise program going.</p>
<p>The bad cholesterol was also high, even though the total level was only 118 (WOW). BMI was way high, like 44% &#8211; yuck!</p>
<p>So, with the good and the bad, I have new goals. Keep total caloric intake to 2600 per day and incorporate more fruit and vegatables. Keep excercising for at least 30 minutes a day &#8211; try for 40 to 45. Reduce BMI level immediately to 40.</p>
<p>Things are looking up!</p>

<p>Had my wellness screening at work on Wednesday and it went OK &#8211; good news and bad news. Good news is I&#8217;ve dropped some weight &#8211; down to 281 with my jeans on. Bad news is my blood pressure was high, 138 over 90. Need to get back in the gym and get the blood flowing again.</p>
<p>All in all, I&#8217;m feeling better. Keep up the good thoughts and pray for me!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The weekend started with great enthusiam for moving forward with increased excercise and devotion to an improved diet, but it all came tumbling down with a bout of food poisoning. All Saturday night (2/14/09) I was bent over the toilet wishing God would remove the pain I was feeling.</p>
<p>Today&#8217;s Monday, and I&#8217;m still feeling it. Week, stomach uneasy and hurting everywhere. It has not been a good couple of days.</p>
<p>Good news is, I didn&#8217;t gain any weight because everything I had in me is gone and I haven&#8217;t even begun to start repleneshing what I&#8217;ve lost. Lots a liquids and some sane, bland food for the next couple of days.</p>
<p>I have a wellness screening on Wednesday, but I&#8217;m not sure how this will effect it. I&#8217;m supposed to fast from tomorrow night into Wednesday, but I&#8217;m not sure I&#8217;ll be able to keep any strength if I do. We&#8217;ll see.</p>
<p>Keep the good thoughts and prayers coming.</p>

<p>Regardless, my goal is to attack with full bore over the weekend and through next week. The setting is good &#8211; I&#8217;m getting healthy again and the weather is warming to the point of outside activity. I&#8217;m confident things are going in the right direction.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m starting to feel little confidence just by writing this stuff down. The passion for writing these days has helped me with a lot of things and I&#8217;m hopeful that this is one of them.</p>
<p>Lunch today was great! Not so much because of the food (it was good too) but because of the server who waited on me &#8211; June. She was fantastic &#8211; informative, personable, funny, and had a very nice smile for someone who needed one. Thanks June &#8211; I&#8217;ll come back to you again!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As the old saying goes, &#8220;today is the first day to the rest of my life.&#8221; I&#8217;m ready to take control of my weight problem and back into a healthy eating pattern.</p>
<p>My main incentive is to live long enough to see my kid graduate college (if he goes to college that is). My boy is 2.5 years old and was born when I was 40, so that puts me at about 58 when he&#8217;s out of high school. Grandkids would also be nice, but if it takes him as long as it did his Mom and me, that may be a big stretch.</p>
<p>In 2005, I lost over 70 pounds and felt great. Then I got a new job and moved to Minnesota, had a kid, and all Hell broke loose on my diet. Saying that it has not been easy getting disciplined again is an understatement.</p>
<p>My goal is to lose 2 pounds per week through diet and excercise. Please keep me in your prayers and any moral support that can come my way, I appreciate.</p>
